Oasis are incredible. No words are even worthy of describing 1) how amazing they are, 2) how much I love them and 3) what a show they put on.
My friend and I were ridiculously close so I got some good shots, which is a ridiculous plus.
Here are some shots, you can see them all on my flickr.
RYAN ADAMS. WOW I have been waiting to see him live for AGES, since I first bought Rock N Roll and he did not disappoint. I love his insane sense of humour too “It would be a…. a cinderella story…!” He is one of my all time favourite musicians. I just want to hug him forever.
Matt Costa, the Dylanesque first opener. He was aight. Not my cup of tea but that doesn’t mean he isn’t good. Maybe if I had seen him open for a different band I would have liked him more. To me he is just kind of an odd fit for an Oasis gig…
LIAM. Man, I got so lucky with these shots, the zoom on that camera is insane. Liam was great the entire night and only sounded like Kermit, like, 12% of the time. I definitely thought he had a skirt on, though, but it was just a sweatshirt around his waist my friend informed me….
NOEL. If there was such a thing as eye sex… Noel and I had it. Over and over. I am so not complaining. I might be making that up, but I like to imagine it. I think I have a picture of him looking at me.. somewhere.. He definitely dedicated a song to me and some guy that was headbanging. Fucking insanity. Just insanity.
Noel and a shoe that someone chucked on stage. Liam looked at it conspicuously and then gave whoever threw it a death stare during the song. After the song Noel picked it up and debated if it was from the 1970s and if it was a man or a woman’s. Haha
I don’t think you can really see it in the small version but he’s totally looking at my camera. Awk.
The show was honestly amazing, their lights are kind of a nightmare though. I did the best I could on an ISO of 1600 though :X. I was sitting next to some guy who was really nice and gave me his business card so I could email him my pictures. He’s some wealthy finance guy. But anyway, we had such a good time. It was great. After the gig in the parking lot Madelaine and I BLASTED Rock and Roll Star MAX VOLUME in her car on the way out… which took like 20 minutes. We had people coming up to our car and dancing. Everyone was rockin out so hardcore. What a great night. and SO MUCH BETTER THAN V FESTIVAL MIGHT I ADD WTF.
So yeah there are tons more pictures again on my flickr. Please look at them and enjoy. man oh man

For some reason I haven’t been totally insanely excited about seeing Oasis tomorrow as I should be. But I was listening to them in the car this evening and it HIT ME. I”m SO EXCITED. I guess it just doesn’t compare to seeing them for the first time (which was, um, an experience). Of course I was a witness to the breaking of Noel’s ribs on stage. Mildly horrifying and traumatizing. fucking great times. And some guy was like, making out with me the entire time basically. What a strange day that was.
I don’t care what anyone says about Oasis or how they are dicks or how all their songs ’sound the same.’ They make the most brilliant and accessible music today, there is no question in my mind. Oasis are my all time favourite band because they just don’t give a fuck and do what they want and don’t care about what most new bands care about. They are not Coldplay, they are not the Smiths or even the Beatles, and they are definitely not Radiohead. They are not out there to please everyone, they are out there because it’s all they know and all that makes sense and it is what they love. They are not southern artsy types that ramble about superficial things or any of that, they are who they are, say what they want to say and sing what they want to sing. That is what I love so much about them. Through some ridiculous haircuts, famous quarrels (wibbling rivalry?) and about 700 different band members, they are still together, which is about 10 years longer than most bands. Oasis have something that no one can really define, and no other band has really come close since , to me.
It is insane to me how many bands have started because they wanted to be like Oasis. To me they are the quintessential British band.
It doesn’t hurt that Noel is like… my favourite person ever.

They make rock and roll music that everyone knows but they also make some of the most beautiful music, an example below,
I really hope that everyone reading this gets the chance to see Oasis live. It honestly is what music is all about. I consider it a privilege.
