I am finally listening to Sonic Youth. I believe Daydream Nation is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard.

Branching off from that last post.
How excited are you for Daniel Day-Lewis to play Fellini (or, that spinoff guy he’s playing)?
DDL and (!!!!!74yearold) Sophia Loren on the set of said film, Nine
I want to be in that back seat so badly it’s scary.
Any of you know what the fuck is wrong with my Praktica LTL 3 (anyone = Patrice and Danielle, i know you both deal with old school film cams)? I put a new battery in it and I know for a fact it’s in the right way yet I keep getting blank rolls of film. I can easily take it in to see what’s wrong but I figured maybe someone has dealt with a similar issue… I want this camera for NYC in a couple weeks! I can’t think of a better place to use it for the first time than the streets of New York really.
Speaking of NYC in 2 weeks, does anyone know where to find some cheap but nice clothes? I know, that is so much to ask for these days. I cannot believe I have to fit clothes/shoes/accessories in 1 carry on for 4 days in the capital of the world… O_O !
Here’s something random. My Bill Maher quote of the day for January 26 (yeah that’s right, I love my political musings from a timid observer). I love it.
Now, we have on hand here The Republican Guide to Dating and Marriage–remember, these are Republican guides; “Violence never solves anything, but if you must hit your mate, do it not as an aggressor, but as a liberator.” It’s the Republican Guide. “Marriage is about communication. In English only.”
On Sunday I went to this Warhol exhibit. It was INCREDIBLE and I was never even a massive fan of Warhol (loved him, but never was obsessed). I think all of that might change now. It was a pivotal moment in my life, honestly, looking at his paintings, silk screens, photographs, films, writings, interviews, whatever. It was crazy to know that all of that stuff was real. It’s hard to explain. It’s weird to me to realize that people like Andy Warhol were even real people. That time is so untouchable to me. Seeing shit like this in person is virtually indescribable.
There was this crazy movie there called Blowjob from 1964. It’s just this long take of this gorgeous guy getting a blowjob but it only shows his face and focuses on his emotions. It was crazy but I loved the idea of it. It was like the absolute antithesis of porn.

I hate marriage, but I would honestly marry Louis Garrel. He is my favourite French actor (bar Jean-Paul Belmondo, but I might love Louis almost as much….). I think he’s just incredible.

Plus he obviously has the best head of hair on the planet.
And NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE looks better smoking a cigarette than Louis.
(even pink ones)
Going all ADHD in this entry, my thoughts are extremely scattered as of late.
- I’ve been listening to Tim Buckley. Here is my favourite of the moment (from that psychedelic mix, , that long bubble one, actually) I Never Asked to Be Your Mountain. I read somewhere that he only met Jeff once before he (Tim) died. I find that so sad. They look and sound so much alike.
- My friend sent me this quote today. “people are motivated to take pictures for pretty much the same two basic reasons: to save a part of the world for themselves, and to save a part of themselves for the world.” Pretty insightful coming from her art ed text book. I think it’s totally true. I mean, that’s why I do it at least. maybe the reasons differ for everyone.
- Caroline Kennedy dropped the Senate bid today. I can’t say I’m disappointed. As much as I LOVE that family (you should honestly see the amount of Kennedy books on our bookshelf in the living room…) I don’t see what qualified her. I don’t know anything about her though. Who knows. Why is Patterson having such a hard time picking someone for the seat? Honestly, I don’t think New York is that short of qualified politicians….
- Speaking of politics, am I the only person in my gov class that knows who Nancy Pelosi is…? Slightly worrying.
- I feel like I am losing a lot of friends as of late. I can probably name the ones I truly trust one one hand. I know I can. It’s putting me in a weird mood, listening to all this Tim & Jeff Buckley, M. Ward and Jacques Dutronc. And a lot of other things. I’m not sad, just reflecting I guess. It’s weird that school is almost over, I guess. Sometimes you just feel like no one is listening. Everyone just wants to talk. You know how these days go.
- My friend Mauricio and his friend and I are going to see THIS in the beginning of February. That Warhol exhibit has been to London… Paris… some more places and now OHIO? That’s what I call random. I can’t tell you how excited I am. I’ve only seen a couple of Warhol pieces. They are much more incredible in person. Can’t wait for some more.

- I watched Untitled today, aka the director’s cut of Almost Famous. I think that was my favourite film for 3 years. I am going to make a separate entry about it because I adore it so much. But I realized one of the reasons I am so in awe of it is that every frame is like a photo.

Well, that’s all from me folks. Is anyone out there? Anyone at all?

(yes I know that’s from the film, my friends, but come on, if it was ANYTHING like that, tell me you wouldn’t want to be hanging out with her).

Irons is Lolita is just about the best thing ever.
and he is my favourite actor of all time.
a shot buy

HOLY SHIT.
